Retrieval and Export Readiness Review

A test of whether evidence can actually be retrieved and exported in a regulator-acceptable form under examination conditions.

Definition and role

What this artifact examines and how it contributes to evidence readiness.

The Retrieval and Export Readiness Review tests not whether evidence exists but whether it can be produced. The two are different. Evidence held across three provider interfaces, in different formats, with manual reconciliation required to align timestamps, may technically exist but functionally fail an examination request. The review walks the retrieval path end-to-end, on representative borrower files, against realistic examination scenarios.

Evidence reviewed

The evidence categories this artifact examines.

  • Retrieval-path testing on representative borrower files.
  • Export format integrity: timestamps, immutability indicators, chain-of-custody artifacts.
  • Time-to-produce under realistic examination notice periods.
  • What is accessible via firm-controlled UI, via API, via vendor-managed request only, or not at all.
  • Successor-servicer-ready export readiness for the same borrower file.

Evidence question

The practical question this artifact is designed to answer.

If a regulator or successor servicer requested a borrower's complete file with thirty days' notice, could the firm produce a complete, ordered, attestable file – or would assembly require multiple provider interfaces, manual reconciliation, or unrecoverable gaps?

How it fits in the assessment

How this artifact supports the Evidence Readiness Assessment and connects with the other diagnostic outputs.

The Retrieval and Export Readiness Review consumes the Vendor Evidence Dependency Map (which says what evidence lives where) and feeds the Evidence Gap Map (which surfaces what cannot be retrieved cleanly under realistic conditions). It is the artifact that most directly tests the firm's posture for a real examination event.
