Template and Render Proof Review
A review of whether templates and their rendered outputs can be reconstructed at the version, payload, and render-state they had at the time of sending.
Definition and role
What this artifact examines and how it contributes to evidence readiness.
The Template and Render Proof Review focuses on the gap between template source and rendered communication. Most communications are personalised at render time; the template, the payload, and the rendered output are three different evidence artifacts. The review tests whether each is preserved at sufficient fidelity to reconstruct the exact content the borrower received.
Evidence reviewed
The evidence categories this artifact examines.
- Template versioning history with effective dates and the policy basis for each change.
- Per-template retention windows and ownership (firm-held versus vendor-held).
- Payload variant capture: the personalisation data fed into each render.
- Render-time evidence: whether the rendered output – not just the template source – is preserved.
- Vendor render-engine dependencies and what fails if the engine is no longer available.
Evidence question
The practical question this artifact is designed to answer.
For any communication the firm sent – periodic statement, default notice, forbearance offer, fee disclosure – can the firm reproduce the exact content, in the exact rendered form, that the borrower received?
How it fits in the assessment
How this artifact supports the Evidence Readiness Assessment and connects with the other diagnostic outputs.
The Template and Render Proof Review feeds the Customer Outcome Evidence Map (which often anchors outcome claims to a specific rendered communication) and the Evidence Gap Map (which surfaces seams between template source and render state). It depends on the Vendor Evidence Dependency Map because render proof frequently lives in vendor systems the firm does not directly control.
